Agriculture is the cultivation of land and breeding of animals and plants to provide foodfibermedicinal plants and other products to sustain and enhance life. Agriculture was the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities.

Agriculture plays a vital role in Indian economy both in terms of significant contribution in GDP and potential employment to more than 70% of country’s rural population. As per NSDC’s agriculture skill gap study, there is a projected workforce requirement of 215.6 million in agriculture sector by 2022. LabourNet in partnership with Apollo Tyres Foundation and Mahindra&Mahindra has trained 2866 farmers in various trades such as Dairy Worker, Animal Health Worker ,Broiler Farm Worker , Dairy Farmer/ Entrepreneur and Marine Capture Fisherman.
